It is also a country where many ethnic groups live together. Similarly, Myanmar’s foreign policy is independent, active and neutral. We look forward to world peace and friendly and cooperative relations between countries. It observes the principles of peaceful coexistence between countries.

Myanmar will not start an invasion of any country and will not allow any foreign forces to be stationed in the country. These are the strong principles of Myanmar.

Due to its geographic location, Myanmar is participating in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and BIMS as a member country. All aspects of the Bay of Bengal region; The Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) started in 1997 in Bangladesh. BIMSTAG was established on June 6, 1997 with the Bangkok Declaration, and Myanmar became a member on December 22, 1997.

Just as an organization has a purpose, a BMS team has a strong set of visions and objectives. The vision and objectives of Bingstag Group are:

(A) Trade to create good conditions and environment for rapid economic development. industry and investment; technology human talent development; Tourism agriculture To develop and implement cooperative projects in the energy and infrastructure and transportation sectors.

(b) economy within the sub-region; To cooperate in a spirit of equality and partnership to promote social progress.

(c) an economy that benefits all member countries; social To actively cooperate and provide mutual assistance in the fields of science and technology.

(d) education; To support countries by providing technical training and research assistance to increase working capacity.

(e) Obtaining more jobs that can contribute to the improvement of people’s living standards and support national projects. To cooperate effectively in improving transportation and communication and other efforts.

(f) purpose; International organizations with the same expectations To cooperate closely and effectively within regional organizations.

(g) To collaborate on projects that can produce practical results at the sub-regional level and utilize the collective strength available within the group.

By looking at the above objectives, it can be seen that the member states are united and looking forward to progress. The Bingstag Charter was signed and approved by the heads of state of the member countries at the fifth Bingstag Summit held by Sri Lanka on March 30, 2022. On the part of Myanmar, the Chairman of the State Planning and Administration Council, the Prime Minister, Major General Min Aung Hlaing joined the signing. As the Bingstag Charter was drafted and approved, the Bingstag organization was able to transform into a legal personality based on regulations. The Bingstag Convention has now entered into force on May 20, 2024.

All cooperation processes under the Bingstad framework are based on sovereign equality; territorial sustainability, political independence; non-interference in internal affairs; non-invasion; peaceful coexistence; The Binstap Charter stipulates that all decisions must be based on mutual respect and mutual benefit, and that all decisions must be based on consensus.

Bingstag Group Summit; Foreign Ministers Meeting meeting of high-ranking officials; It is operating step by step with four (4) main mechanisms namely Bingstag Working Group Meeting. Meetings of high-level officials are usually held before the summit and the ministerial meeting. In addition, it is to be held according to the agreement of the member countries when it is necessary. Up to now, the meeting of senior officials has been held 23 times.

The meeting of foreign ministers, which is the second highest meeting of the Bingstag group, is usually hosted by the country holding the rotating presidency of the Bingstag, and has been held 19 times so far. The summit, the highest meeting of the BIMS, is hosted by the country that holds the BIMS’s rotating presidency. It has been held five times so far. Myanmar hosted the third BIMS Summit on March 4, 2014 in Nay Pyi Taw. It is reported that Thailand, which is currently the rotating chairman of Bingstag, is planning to hold the sixth Bingstag summit in 2024.

In Colombo, Sri Lanka, on March 30, 2022, at the Fifth Bingstag Summit, all member countries agreed on Bingstag cooperation aspects; Subsections were approved. Myanmar is a leading country in the field of agriculture and food security.

To mention the cooperation of other member countries, Bangladesh trade, investment and development sector; As Bhutan, the environment and climate change sector; India’s security sector As for Nepal, the sector of people-to-people connection activities; As Sri Lanka, science, Technology and Innovation Sector; As for Thailand, they have to take the lead in the connection activities sector.

Myanmar is a leading country in the agricultural and food security sector, so there will not be any great difficulty in improving agriculture and livestock with modern methods and building other economic sectors to comprehensively develop them.

On June 6, 2024, the chairman of the State Planning and Administration Council sent a congratulatory message on behalf of the government and people of the Republic of Myanmar for the 27th anniversary of the establishment of the Bay of Bengal Regional Multi-Sector Technology and Economic Cooperation Program (BIMST). The message was published on the official website of the Bingstag Secretariat, along with messages from heads of state from other Bingstag member countries.

In the message sent by the chairman of the Myanmar State Planning Administrative Council, Major General Min Aung Hlaing, “I would like to express my special pride and joy to all the member countries for being able to make a collective effort under the framework of BIMS to deal with various challenges. I believe that our unity and systematic cooperation, guided by the Bingstag Charter, are the key elements that will enable us to continue to overcome future challenges.”

During (27) years, Bingstak has promoted regional socio-economic development through collective action based on the policies set forth in the 1997 Bangkok Declaration. There has been tangible progress in strengthening institutional mechanisms. Bingstag is not only a corridor for regional cooperation, but also friendship between member countries. It also strengthens mutual understanding and people-to-people interactions.

The Bingstag Charter clearly shows a strong commitment to cooperate for regional stability through mutual assistance.

Myanmar reiterates its strong commitment to actively cooperate with member countries in accordance with the principles of the BIM STAP Charter.

Along with globalization, Bingstag Group is expanding cooperation on security issues, including the fight against terrorism and cross-border crime. The Bingstag National Security Chiefs Meeting has been held annually since 2017. On March 21, 2019, in Bangkok, Thailand, the 3rd BIMSTC national security chiefs’ meeting was agreed upon, and arrangements must be made for Myanmar to host the 4th meeting in 2024.

The first meeting of Bingstag national security chiefs was held on March 21, 2017 in New Delhi, India. The second meeting was held on March 28, 2018 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The third meeting was held on March 21, 2019 in Bangkok, Thailand. (4th) BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs’ Meeting Myanmar is hosting the 4th BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs’ Meeting, and a pre-negotiation meeting for the BIMSTEC National Security Chiefs’ Meeting was held in Nay Pyi Taw on July 24th.

On July 25, the chiefs of national security from BIMSTAC member countries and the Secretary General of BIMSTAC who attended the meeting paid their respects to Prime Minister General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Planning and Administration Council.

The meeting is being hosted at the M Gallery Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on July 26. Bangladesh Bhutan Nepal Sri Lanka Thailand’s national security chiefs and the Secretary-General of Bingstaat will attend.

At the meeting, the chiefs of Bingstag National Security discussed anti-terrorism and anti-narcotics processes. maritime security and cyber security challenges; The ability to share more effective information according to relevant security sectors; the current security situation in the region; They openly discuss the situation to be prepared for the security challenges that may be encountered and the methods to be implemented.

It is strongly believed that due to these good results, security, peace and better socio-economic life will take place in the Bingstag sub-region.
